YOGA for rest + recovery 4:00-5:30pm
w/ Bailey
March 9th, 2024 [Saturday]
Join us for our signature monthly workshop where we focus on calming breathwork, restorative postures, an easy flow and finishing with a hands-on savasana (think, a little assisted stretch and cranial sacral work).
[90 minutes]
*Bring a yoga mat!
$35 (cash or venmo) / $40 (credit card)
Hands-On Basics (for couples) 3:30-5:00pm
w/ Laura
April 13th , 2024 [Saturday]
In this 3 hour workshop you will learn introductory massage therapy techniques to use on your partner. We will briefly discuss massage basics including anatomy and intentional/intuitive touch followed by actual massage work! The back will be the primary focus of this course with a touch of head/scalp massage.
This is a small group setting of 4 couples, who will rotate between 2 tables, giving you the opportunity to practice with your partner, but also watch others demonstrate.
(Because we are focusing on the back portion of the body, your back will be exposed with others present. Please make sure you are comfortable with this before signing up.)
Only 3 spots left!
$225 per couple (cash or venmo) / $233 (credit card)
Meet Your Workshop Teachers:
What she’s teaching: Thai Yoga Floor Massage, Hands-On Savasana, Hands-On Basics (for couples)
Laura Jenkins - Owner/Founder/Movement Maintenance Professional
Upon graduating from The University of The Arts with a BFA in Modern Dance Performance in 2007, Laura has created and performed with several shows with local Philadelphia dance companies (including running her own!). Knowing she needed a career that would work along side dance, she chose Massage Therapy as she was always interested in the injury/prevention component of self-care. In 2009 she graduated from Cortiva Institute for Muscle Therapy as a Licensed Massage Therapist and started Massage Studio of Philadelphia in 2012. After moving to Los Angeles for a brief 3 years, she began to expand her knowledge of the movement and the body by becoming a Yoga Instructor in 2017 and has since taught several classes, workshops, and retreats from Philadelphia to California from Mexico to Canada. She loves making knowledge accessible to the non-professional so that they can implement in their day to today.
What she’s teaching: Inversion Workshop, YOGA for rest + recovery, Chakra Workshop
Bailey Benoot - Yoga Instructor
After experiencing the profound effects that practicing yoga had on her strength and flexibility as a dancer, she decided to go through teacher training with OM Factory NYC in 2018. She graduated from Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts in 2019 with a BFA in Modern Dance and Choreography. Bailey has experience teaching all ages and skill levels, from absolute beginners to advanced practitioners. Her focus is on alignment within a functional flow, and she enjoys helping her students find freedom within the discipline of yoga. This is her first year with Massage Studio of Philadelphia!
